Please, I would like to share this with you.
Last September, though I did not want to travel, I went to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) with my partner.
“It will be spiritual, I promise,” he said solemnly. I did not know what to expect (Ho Chi Minh and spiritual???) but I trusted him and in the love he has for me. Later, he would admit that he did not know what lay in store for us, other than his intention to “make it spiritual”, and then allowing the universe to respond to his intention.
From Buddha Doodles:
And the universe did respond, oh so resoundingly. For there, in Ho Chi Minh City, in the quaint “Book Street”, we discovered the Vietnamese spiritualist, Thich Nhat Hahn (“Thay”) through his writings.
In the months that followed, we made a commitment to study Thay’s wisdom. We have learned much from this journey, and I wish to share the little gem I found today:
People can only meet you as deeply as they have met themselves.
Thich Nhat Hahn
So don’t be disappointed if you are not met by your loved one. We are where we are. However much we love and serve someone, maybe we will never be able to reach them or they us. And this is the reason, as explained so beautifully by Thay.
And if you have loved someone who could not love you, forgive yourself for loving (and investing) someone who is not right for you. Because when you forgive, you can move on….x
