One of the best things about my country is the little markets in villages and towns on Saturdays. These markets sell homemade stuff that you can never buy in impersonal supermarkets and large stores. In an age where everything is mass-produced, made in sweat shops halfway across the world and disposable, finds in these markets are very precious indeed. I bought a gorgeous, handmade felt hat!
This was the Saturday market in Lymington, Hampshire. Lymington is well-known for its smugglers in olden days though now it is just a gorgeous town by the sea. And of course, you can sail to the Isle of Wight easily from here. You can stay in lovely New Forest hotels just outside Lymington – we went for a wedding once in The Huntsman and stayed there. Absolutely gorgeous, for that Hampshire magic ❤
