She was read to every night by her Daaad. They’d read horsey stories, the whole fairy series, and later, Jacqueline Wilson’s books together.
At sixteen, she has outgrown them all. She reads the likes of John Irving these days, but these books are not meant for reading out loud nor for sharing with someone (plot too complicated, text too dense, story too long).
So I wrote one for her. I put in as much beauty as I could find, amongst the arcane science and magical logic. Here’s the first few pages of An Evening In Wonderland, read by her Daaad. We hope to record the whole book for her, so that however old she is, wherever she may be, she will always have her bedtime stories with her in her iPod or iPhone. Our much-loved youngest child ❤
Enjoy her Daaaad’s reading, everyone ! x
