Weekends is family time, as all my children now work (yippee!!) and can’t just meet up with mum any old sweet time. So we went off to Jaffa Bake House in Fulham, where two of my children live.

And I must admit, this is the first time I had Manakeesh Zaatar. Basically, it’s flatbread slathered with zingy Mediterranean spices and topped with a choice of cheese, olives, tomatoes and other good stuff.

I must say the prices at Jaffa Bake House is very reasonable for London.

But me being me, I had to ask the proprietor how to make my own Manakeesh Zaatar. She said it could be made with pitta bread, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with Zaatar.

This is the recipe for Zaatar from the Telegraph.  Do try it….I definitely will!
