Recently we walked. We had lunch at Hakkasan Mayfair, and after the leisurely lunch, we picked up a takeaway coffee and walked through St James’s Park. It was a beautiful late summer’s day and it was a lovely walk through the park. I was wearing a floaty summery dress and flat shoes. The station at Westminster was closed, and we walked across London Bridge to Waterloo. He told me animatedly about the fortune tellers that used to be on the bridge; I laughed, feeling so happy, thinking to myself, there could not be a more perfect day.

And here’s the thing: I run too much and I don’t stroll enough, always rushing to get from A to B. No excuse, because there’s now a walking map of London published, and it’s only £10.
